The golden thread of multigenre…and EMOJI?

screen-shot-2016-10-26-at-9-53-41-pmMultigenre in writing is really surprising me!  I never considered how many ways we communicate now!  It even includes EMOJI!

Our symbols no longer include just the 26 letters of the alphabet.  Today, the face of writing varies from texts, to tweets and even EMOJI.   According to a New York Times (10-26-16) entitled Look Who’s Smiley Now by Amanda Hess there were 176 original symbols.  They are similar to pictographs are on display in the Museum of Modern Art.  Pictographs are and were intended for online communication.

Now the term “ideographs” is used.  They are considered one of the most ancient ways of communicating!
